History of The Crawford House and Gardens

The Crawford House in Hattiesburg is truly a hidden gem with a plethora of interesting history.  The 4,800 sq ft home had been specially designed to look like an Italian villa with a sweeping staircase and large front porch that overlooked about 2 acres of tree-laden property. This makes a picturesque site for romantic wedding photos.  Over the years, the beautiful property has served in several different capacities. The house was formerly a personal residence to WW Crawford, one of Hattiesburg’s first doctors. It eventually became an event venue, later to become an antique store. Finally, for many years, the house was used as a personal residence. Almost 3 years ago, Monica Tisack and her husband bought the property and have worked to restore it to a stunning event venue.  Today, the owner Monica and her team help are dedicated to making each wedding as perfect as possible, poising The Crawford House to become one of the premier event venues in Mississippi.

THE FRONT

The Crawford House is a beautiful estate that offers many stunning photo backdrops for your wedding day. The front of the house features a gorgeous double staircase, perfect for those dreamy bride and groom portraits. It features a beautifully landscaped garden, wrap around drive with the fountain providing a beautiful focal point. In addition, the house itself is absolutely breathtaking, offering many different angles and views that are sure to please any Mississippi wedding photographer.

UPSTAIRS SUITES

This Venue provides the best of both worlds, adequately serving any Mississippi bride with a unique vision. The upstairs suites are perfect for getting ready photos on your wedding day. The Crawford House offers several different options, if you’re more of a light and airy gal, they have a suite just for you. The light-filled rooms with bright white walls provide stunning light for your photographer and makeup artist.

You and your guests will enjoy multiple beautiful indoor and outdoor areas that are perfect for celebrating your special day. You and your Wedding party will have multiple dressing areas upstairs, complete with tables and antique chairs. The spacious downstairs area includes the dining room, Butler’s pantry, grand room, and sunroom. These areas are all perfect for photos, mingling, or dancing. Furthermore, there are two prep/warming kitchens. Additionally, they offer flexible food and beverage options so that your guests are happy. An on-site team member is available throughout your entire event to answer any questions and ensure that everything runs smoothly. From start to finish, The Crawford House will provide a beautifully unique and distinct setting for your wedding day.
