History of The Faulkner
The Faulkner was originally built in 1904 by Jackson photographer Elias Von Suetter and his son Carl Von Suetter. The historical building has housed many things over the years including a jewelry emporium, a Savings and Loan company, and the headquarters of the Mississippi Republican Party until it was purchased by Buddy Faulkner nearly 30 years ago. Buddy, an experienced architect, and his daughter Sara, a wedding planner, renovated and opened The Faulkner as a wedding venue in 2019. Since then, The Faulkner has become known for its grand style and ambiance as one of the South’s premier wedding venues.
Available Spaces at The Faulkner
The Faulkner is an incredible 6 stories high, with a beautiful working elevator (and elevator service!). While two floors (the Second and the Third) are leasable office space, the building has a total of 3 beautiful event spaces perfect for any event and so easily customizable to whatever your dream is for your wedding. Along with one floor as a dedicated getting ready space. Event spaces at The Faulkner include, The First at The Faulkner, The Fifth at The Faulkner, and The Top of The Faulkner. The Fourth at The Faulkner is home to The Parlor, the main getting ready space where most brides get ready, along with The Boardroom and Drawing room, jointly known as The Front Rooms at The Faulkner. The First at The Faulkner

The Fourth at The Faulkner features two distinct spaces: The Parlor and The Front Rooms. Both of these room are beautifully designed and make perfect getting ready spaces for you and your bridal party. The Parlor, where brides tend to get ready is beautifully decorated with soft colors and details, large windows with coverings to allow plenty of softened natural light in, and a gigantic mirror to get ready in. The lighting in this room is fantastic and the resulting “getting ready” photos always turn out phenomenal.

Adjoining the two main spaces, there is a drawing room with a large table, open floor space perfect for getting in your dress or just hanging out and plenty of window light giving a nice open space for portraits or even bridal details to be photographed. Immediately through the beautiful wooden double doors is the Board Room where you’ll usually find the groomsmen getting ready or catching the game on TV. Also on this floor for your convenience are restrooms, a wet bar, and a kitchen. It really is all you need for the perfect getting ready area.

The Fifth at The Faulkner
With soaring 16 ft ceilings and an abundance of natural light streaming in from the 10 ft windows, sleek hardwood floors, and over 125 orbs suspended from the ceiling creating the perfect ambiance, The Fifth at The Faulkner is the perfect event space that can accommodate groups of up to 225 reception style of 160 for a seated dinner.
The room’s neutral color palette and open floor plan provide you with the ideal canvas to create the event you’ve always envisioned. The overhead globe lighting, with adjustable dimming, sets the perfect ambiance whether your occasion takes place in the daylight or at night. With a simple touch, you can effortlessly control room lighting, temperature, and microphone/music volumes. An inclusive selection of tables and elegant chiavari chairs effortlessly fill the space, offering you the freedom to design your custom layout. There is also a stunning geometric mirrored wall that is the perfect backdrop for your wedding cake table. The Fifth also boasts a private prep kitchen for your catering team’s convenience, along with exclusive restroom facilities, ensuring that every detail of your evening is perfect.

The Top of the Faulkner
The rooftop terrace offers unobstructed views as far as the eye can see of the Jackson skyline and river basin.With over 2,300 square feet of event space, lush plants, and sleek lounge furniture, this space is functional as well as beautiful. There is elevator access to the rooftop, its own climate controlled restrooms, and a built-in audio system making it versatile enough to use for any part of your day. Even better, The Faulkner includes tables and chairs! So you can use this space for cocktail hour, a wedding ceremony of 200, seated dinner for 40, or even an amazing reception under the stars with a full band, cocktail tables and plenty of dancing space!
